| A good movie. |
|
Quoted: I watched it for the first time today. Can any active duty Army on here attest to it's realism or was it hollywooled up? More realistic than others. On part, a guy sneaks off the FOB. Some "Vets" said it was impossible. Except, it actually HAS happened a couple times in real life. Very rare, but it has happened. |

Quoted: fuck em its not a documentery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,It rocked. LOL next they'll bicth about Inglorious Bastards not being historically correct My exact feeling. No it wasn't 100% accurate, but it was still entertaining, paints troops in a POSITIVE light and had a good story. |

Hollywood hanging around a bunch of drunk EOD guys writing down their WAR stories... SPOILERS...maybe EOD is a voluntary MOS and the cry babies... White guy and Black guy could of left any time. Pulled their statement..........No more he's trying to get us killed.... . But...at least it is an Army EOD story.. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Quoted: I liked the part where the EOD guys were better than the SF dudes who were hipfiring aks ![]() You mean the guys that must have completely forgot the "reaction to contact" drill and didn't take cover? ![]() But they weren't SF. The movie doesn't even tell us what they are. Just contractors. But my initial thinking was CAG or CIA. ![]() |

I thought it was awsome.
Only parts I didnt agree with were ––When he snuck off of the base ––When the two main characters started sniping like pros ––Also in the same seen as above when they are sniping and the third USA soldier is just sitting around drinking joice boxes and doesnt seem to be "ready" or scanning. I dont even remember him holding his rifle. Also the private guys seemed pretty stupid, just sitting in the open. ––Also when the two USA guys are sniping after cleaning the blood off the 50 BMG rounds they load them without the mag, he fires, and when they go back to them the mag is loaded and inserted in the rifle. I guess they took a break filming and forgot that little detail. I liked how it wasn't a shoot em up movie, and how it painted the troops in a good light. |

In Afghanistan they had a guy sneak off the post..... one time in Iraq a couple guys were able to sneak off the FOB and rape a little Iraqi girl (They plead guilty and admitted to doing it). It's not like it CAN'T happen. |

Just finished watching it and it was a solid 8/10 Pretty sure the Private guys were aussies since the guy refers to the hadji's as being worth 500 thousand quid. T Probably not Aussies because they use dollars (AUD) now. They stopped using Imperial money in 1966. Quid is slang for a British Pound. I thought from their accent that they were some flavor of Brit. ETA: I really liked the movie. I could feel the suspense of the defusing scenes. My back hurt at the end from all the tension that movie generated. |

Watching it now. Was a little at the 850 meter headshot on a running target by a non-sniper...thought he said that he did 7 years as a Ranger before EOD at one point in the movie to SFC James. So for all we know as the veiwer he could have been a sniper. He had a ranger bat combat patch, but I was too drunk to tell which BN

Quoted: Click To View Spoiler Other than that, I LoLed when he took one look at the trunk of that car and just started taking off the Kevlar. The reaction is classic. Or you could nitpick in that virtually ALL the scenes, they could have used a robot instead of walking up to the bomb in bomb suits to dispose of them. But it was done for dramatic effect. It would probably be a pretty boring movie if they just did their job with robots and nothing every happened. |

Kelly's Heroes was a cool movie also, but I don't think it was realistic, but damn entertaining. My point is that "The Hurt Locker" is a movie, that is meant to make you think and to entertain. If you want it to be 100 % accurate, enlist. Just my .02 cents And I have 20 years of Army Service to those that will try to flame me. |
at the 850 meter headshot on a running target by a non-sniper...
