Had no idea what this movie was about for the most part. My wife rented it. I think we were both going into it thinking it was going to be like Taking Chance. It's kind of weird. The one thing I did find interesting about it, and I kind of thought about it before but, is how OEF/OIF vets kind of look down on Desert Storm vets. The one scene where the kid says to the DS vet "I was in a firefight that lasted longer than your entire war..." kind of lays it all out. Anyway... the stuff between the parts where they give the "message" to the next of kin is weird. The message scene I have a hard time with. So anyone else? |
| I enjoyed it because the intense grieving reactions of the family members seemed very realistic to me, but I thought the intent of the movie was anti-war. Though I'm fine with this type of anti-war movie because it seemed like an honest representation of those guys' shitty jobs (except for the romance with the widow). |

My thoughts exactly. the drama w/each family was intense, but the widow romance was odd/out of place... |
