Bayonet Of The Day...

OK, break out those blades and let's see them. The ban is over, the lug is back.

This is how things were done about 100 years ago.

No AR pics yet? Well, I finally picked up a bayonet at a funshow two weekends ago. Now I actually have something to stick on the lug of my new-fangled post-sunset AR's.

Didn't see they made that big a deal out of it. But I dropped them a love letter just the same and introduced them to my niece. She can kick their ass if they get out of hand.

General Information

The Bayonet 2000TM, made under license of Eickhorn-Solingen, by richard j. Clickett, Inc., was especially designed as the multi-purpose bayonet model Bayonet 2000TM for the modern infantry soldier in the 21st century for multi-terrain operations (urban, peacekeeping, etc.)

Characteristics

This new generation Bayonet 2000TM combines several functions into one bayonet-knife-and-tool with a very flat, sturdy and compact design, good balance, light weight and ready for the toughest field work. The Bayonet 2000TM is compatible with the U.S. Land Warrior system, fitting on the individual soldier and accessible and operable with one hand. Provided the user follows the instructions as to dry and non-oily conditions the Bayonet 2000TM is electrically insulated up to 1,000 Volts, temperature-resistant between -40°F (-40°C) and +176°F (+80°C), fungus-resistant, NBC-resistant and decontaminable.

Here's some of mine:

The down-side of having a C&R is the quest to make sure every rifle has a bayonet.  Sometimes, such as the Finnish M39 rifles, the bayonet can cost more than the rifle.

From left to right ummm, I think maybe:
Yugo M48, Lithgow NoI MkIII, unknown German WWII bayo, MAS 49/56, Remington 1917, Spanish FR-8, Russian M91/30, Swedish M96, Savage No4 MkI, Turk 1938 Mauser, US M8 (AR-15), Chinese AK, East German AK, UFH M1 (Garand), Imperial M4 (M1 Carbine), German K98, Steyr M95/34.
