Big fan of Mogwai, saw them live on their Hawk is Howling tour with Fuckbuttons and Tulsa Drone. Also like Crippled Black Phoenix, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Do Make Say Think, and others in that vein.
I love Isis, Gojira, Pelican, and Cult of Luna as well, but that's more post-metal. If we're counting that, we can probably also count Mastodon and Tool in the prog-metal category. |

How was their show? I'm betting that it was amazing! Do Make Say Think is awesome, Godspeed is too, even though they hate the U.S. Have you heard of LITE or Toe? Two Japanese bands that are outstanding. I'm going to see LITE in March, I can't fuckin wait. Edit: Neil on Impression kicks ass too. As well as Al Di Meola and P.F.M. |
