Doesn't matter.

The electorate knew what it was getting with the Obama posse, and elected then RE-elected them. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the USSC job to save Americans from themselves.

So tell me Tomislav...You too think it is a justifiable and legal tax as does Roberts?....Yep, he screwed the working man of America...This country was based on the hard working man getting ahead...and not the working man supporting the lazy or non-working man.

What the country was founded on and what the majority of the electorate now wants are two very separate things.

If the electorate didn't put Obama in office, we wouldn't have Obamacare. Don't blame some schmuck who probably just likes dressing like he's at Hogwarts for the woes brought on by voters and the politicians they elect and keep reelecting.
10/7/2013 6:29:20 PM EDT
[#13]
I may to differ with you...the electorate was misled (or lied to)...... With that being said...your schmuck , among others, passed this as an legal tax. No matter who the President was voted in by,...the misled or the well informed...he was and is wrong

Actually, its not, but that's another thread.

But even if it was, taxes have been held up as constitutional. And when people vote for politicians who say they are going to increase spending, well...

The court at one timed ruled that segregation was constitutional and OK.

SCOTUS isn't perfect. The ruling on the ACA isn't the end of the world.

this is what Roberts stated in his brief.
Elections have consequences.

1) he was blackmailed
2) he view this as a way of pissing average Joe and Sandy off so much that they turn more conservative for the next 30 years.

one or the other, or a little bit of both.

This has been hashed out here too many times. It is NOT the SC's job to rewrite unconstitutional bills, in order to call them a tax, after the bills authors swore up and down that it was NOT A TAX.  Also, in which house do TAX bills originate?

The Supreme Court...It can tell a President that his actions are not allowed by the Constitution. It can tell Congress that a law it passed violated the U.S. Constitution and is, therefore, no longer a law. It can also tell the government of a state that one of its laws breaks a rule in the Constitution.

The Supreme Court has a special role to play in the United States system of government. The Constitution gives it the power to check, if necessary, the actions of the President and Congress.
It can tell a President that his actions are not allowed by the Constitution. It can tell Congress that a law it passed violated the U.S. Constitution and is, therefore, no longer a law. It can also tell the government of a state that one of its laws breaks a rule in the Constitution.
The Supreme Court is the final judge in all cases involving laws of Congress, and the highest law of all — the Constitution.

Executive - Obama pushing for it

Legislative - Democrat Senate writing it and passing it

Judicial - Roberts giving it the nod

I know I still have a lot to learn about how the world works, but I have a real problem with a few assholes sitting on a high horse telling me that I have to sit back an take this shit because they've read the Constitution more than I have and claim to understand it better.

Uneducated post may be uneducated, but whatever
