I don't think I'll ever be able to use my maul again after seeing this thing.
Hope I don't fail at this. This is my first attempt at hosting & posting a video. The Ultimate Log Splitter |

Yeah but using a maul saves me from becoming a limp wristed desk driving pussy. ;) I have let my wrist go limp ..............................I pick up the phone............... then pick up the checkbook I aint splittin shit I work hard enough! I do stack it and bring it in the house though ![]() |

I like it but it seems like a waste to put in on a skid steer. Why not just make it a fixed piece of equipment and bring the logs to it. So you can put different piles of wood in different places without having to move each piece of split wood.

Why take the logs to the machine when you can take the machine to the logs? Because with a less skilled operator I see a bent chainsaw bar and damage to other attachment ramming it into a pile of logs. Otherwise its very kickass. |

Why take the logs to the machine when you can take the machine to the logs? That is a good objection, but the logs might be scattered all over. The only improvement I could see is a stand alone machine, where the cutting and splitting procedure is done automatically while the driver fetches another log. God realistic scenario: Worker grabs log with skid steer, and takes to machine. Worker drives empty truck to next log while cutter/splitter does it's thing. Worker brings up next log about the time the machine finished the previous one. Even better still would be some mechanism for stacking the wood too! I assume the splitter will split bigger logs than those weenie little things. |
