As good as he is the huge downside is that he will be seen as the "Me too" black guy in the race. Much as Micheal Steele was when he was selected to run the party.

It will be percieved (and portrayed) as a desperation play to pantomime Obama's success.

Steele was worse than an empty suit.

Cain would absolutely destroy 0bama in a debate - much like he destroyed expert wordsmith Billy Clinton.  While the media may portray it that way (I fully expect them to), Cain speaks in a way that is clear and straightforward; effectively the polar opposite of 0bama.  Once people hear Cain speak on a national scale with more exposure, that kind of thinking (hey we have a Black guy too) will fade as he actually knows his stuff; unlike the boy-child in chief.

I strongly disagree. Someone else commented on Steels being an empty suit and I fully agree. He did nothing and from my point of view he had no real conservative support. Cain brings a lot to the table and is far from an empty suit.

Oh and I think his pizza is fucking awesome for what its worth

One thing I really like about Cain, is when he answers a question, its usually with a straight-forward "Yes, and here's why" or "No, and here's why not" format. The man is concise and not in love with his own voice.

At OSU, they ran an ad that said.
Order this pizza, or we will sneak into your bathroom, and stretch saran-wrap over your toilet while you sleep!

Cain may be perceived as a Token, but he is a leader with experience, and that's something we've been lacking.

I get the impression that the only thing Mitt Romney feels strongly about is that Mitt Romney should be president., I'd vote for him over Obama, but I'd be a hold-my-nose vote like McCain was. I think everything else is basically negotiable with the guy. Perry seemed awesome at first, but damn if the "new guy" factor hasn't worn off him pretty quick. He might recover, and I think I can vote for him, but he's not one of my favorites.

Bachman, Ron Paul, and Huntsman are non-starters for me.

I like Cain more everytime i hear him talk.

Interested on his thoughts towards the abject condition of a mojority of his race.

Seems to me these people are in a self propetuating cycle of welfare handout cases. (Generalization)

That would be the case if his views were like Michael Steele's.  Michael Steele was a failure because he's a RINO, hell he spent a year trying to marginalize the Tea Party.  He said he was going to bring  hip-hop to the GOP.

Cain is in the lead now because of his genuine views.

I like how he sounds when he's fired up.

There is a legitimate honesty to his voice that is absolutely lacking from Obama,Perry,Romney and too many others.

I don't think he's the smartest, best educated, most worldly etc etc etc but I'm tired of waiting for Superman to come save me. No,I want a President with enough brains and balls to turn some shit around and get this house back in order. Cain isn't the perfect candidate for me but he's looking pretty good.

When it comes to foreign policy,I have my reservations as to his experience but after Obama,I want to see him look  at Putin and Hu Jintao and give him the " you know I ain't even your bitch" glare that says "motherfucker, don't even think I'm gonna bow to you".

Herman Cain does not appear to be a political puppet reading from a teleprompter.

He speaks with conviction and without hesitation. He looks, speaks and acts like a leader. None of the other candidates in the FL debate left me with that impression.
