US Constitution We all know this has been the source of 90% of the activities the federal government does now. So, why isn't congress using this clause to end the boycotts of Arizona? That seems to be one of the very few things that this clause is actually designed to do. ![]() |

I don't really read it that way. It gives the Gov power to regulate, but not to force one State to buy something from another. If a State chooses to purchase goods and services from a State other than AZ, I don't see how the Gov could step in and say you must buy from AZ.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Arizona! Just being intellectually honest. Now perhaps the Gov could prohibit an official boycott, but a "quiet" boycott would be the result. |

In addition, why don't they use "constructive intent" with bullshit like this. They can contort the "Commerce Clause" to apply to 12 acres of wheat in Wickard vs Filburn but not to states openly boycotting another ? |
