So I was hanging out with a liberal co-worker this weekend and he said some real gems of quotes and got me thinking about all of the other ridiculous things I've had liberals tell me over the years. I have put a few of them below. Anyone else have any first hand liberal quotes they want to share?
"McDonald's is so evil. They are single-handedly ruining the culture of Italy. They make their food so cheap and tasty that it forces people to eat there, taking away from the experience of eating real Italian food." "Communism has been proven to work. Maybe not on the scale of a country but it sure worked for the Native Americans." Him: "The high salaries paid to executives are the #1 reason our country is in a recession." Me: "What about the out-of-control government spending on things like entitlements and welfare?" Him: "That is a very small part of the problem and if we would just take some of the money from the executives we would be able to solve all of the country's economic problems." Me:

Yeah, I have heard a few in my time. Things like:
Wars and the subsequent nation building, foreign aid, and strategically supporting puppet regimes across the world will help keep taxes low. The surveillance state and the war on drugs is pursuant to liberty and a punch in the face to big government. And something about Israel being a welfare queen, but I forget exactly how that one went. Funny, all in all. |

Did you tell him that the money that the rich save by buying stocks and bonds, or even by putting it in saving accounts is what's used by others to finance their projects? |

Liberals always say we can't allow X because Y might happen if we do.
Of course Y rarely ever happens, but it is all they want to talk about when it does. X = people to have guns, Y = they might shoot somebody X = people to have knives, Y = they might stab somebody X = people to have sex if they're not married, Y = somebody might get pregnant or upset and bastard children will be raised out of wedlock. X = gays to marry, Y = it will undermine my heterosexual marriage to a spouse of the opposite sex X = polygamy, Y = they will have a bunch of kids and scam the welfare system Oh damn, it's not just the liberals.

The rich in general invest their money, which goes into financing new factories, new products, new services, etc. |

1) It's ok to ban guns in DC and Chicago. They have really bad crime (this was from gun owning black co workers).
2) Communism is the best form of government if it is really working. 3) The US gov is selling drugs in the inner cities. It's a conspiracy. 4) AIDs a conspiracy against blacks and gays. 5) 9/11 was a conspiracy. 6) The Republicans won't let Obama do anything. 7) We can tax the rich and the corporations to pay for ______ (Fill in the blank. Everyone else is responsible for paying for whatever the Lib agenda is. I've yet to hear one single Liberal say that he'll help pay for something). |

Because the same crap olives we buy over here and fake olive oil make the food taste exactly the same as Olive Garden. Their own fault. |

You're on to something with that line of thought, but what they really are, is crypto-statists. Well, although I generally disagree of laws like this, I'm mostly OK with: X = driving drunk, Y = you might kill somebody. Although I tend to think the person just at .08 creeping home from a neighborhood bar on a back road doing 20mph should not get the same penalty as some goon at .20 doing 70mph down the freeway. Does that make me a hypocrite, crypto-statist? |

I once had a liberal on Facebook tell me that North Korea was NOT a communist country because the power was concentrated in the hands of a small number of people and that true communism would be a wonderful thing & it has not yet been tried anywhere on the planet.....

There is one by the Spanish Steps and it has long been the case that tourists like to go there. Rome is very different and I think the tourists are relieved to see something familiar in a sea of different, not to mention the prices and the food at the local tratorria's suck. Italy can be very disorienting for American's, much more so than Northern Europe. Very few people outside of intensely touristy areas speak English, personal space requirements are very different, the cars are different, even the sound of distant conversation is very different, so are the smells. Northern Europe, e.g. Germany is easier to accept at a sub conscience level at least in my experience. |

My wife and I have been there many times and have taken many first timers and have never had a problem. Gernany is somewhat easier to maneuver because the whole country was rebuilt after WWII and the roads were re-done to incorporate modern transportaition. Rome has stood pretty much intact for a couple thousand years so yes the road may be disorientating if you are not paying attention. But the locals will bend over backwards to help a lost American |

I’ll vote Communist Party before I vote for a Democrat at least the Communist Party is upfront about what they want. The Democrats want the same thing but they hide and say it about being fair. So it’s fair that a dumbass who is in his 40’s with no skills and is a failure doesn’t pay any taxes and a person who has worked hard all there life pays most of taxes?

Get government for the people by the people back and by people I don't mean corporations." its the guns fault(and anyone who has one) "Yes, you have the right to defend yourself. No, you don't have a right to slaughter innocent people with automatic weapons and 100 count magazines. Bottom line.. those who are defending these types of weapons might as well have been the one who pulled the trigger in that theater. The blood is on your hands as sure as you did it." criminals dont shoot people! its the law abiding citizens that become criminals!! "There you have the biggest fallacy the gun lobby runs with.
