I am having doubts about raising my sons in Loserana. Schools suck, ecomomy and government leave something to be desired to say the least. I have moved twice trying to get away from trash and it only works for about a year or  two.
If I was going to make the big move, one very important consideration is going where conservative  white people and a conservative state gov are.
Opinions?

(Iowa is 93% white, I hope it's OK to want to be with my own, no IBTL, and Kalifornia is 59%.
I thought it was an interesting contrast. Now in Louisiana it's 65 % so it could be worse.
I didn't check the North East, not interested.)

North Georgia is quite nice and you do get 4 true seasons.  Fortunately the winter is a short one!!

Denham Springs or Walker.  Everywhere else looks like there is a Tarzan movie being filmed.

ETA Challmette is a nice place on the south side of the lake.

South Dakota,  No gun laws, CCW issues so loosly it does not even qualify for ATF background check on purchases, no state income tax, plan 4wd vehicle if you intend to travel in winter time.

I was born and raised here in Louisiana and swore I would never leave. But you know, you get what you pay for. It is one of the cheapest places to live with Homestead Exemption, etc. Well it was before they crammed the Stelly Bill down our throats. Basically you have to check out other places and make an informed decision. It is really not the race issue here. It is the lazy, don't give a shit attitudes plus the crooked politicians. I am getting tired of the Laissez Faire and the Laissez les Bon Temp Rouler attitudes. I guess since I now have two small kids and have been looking alot closer at the school systems, I realized how screwed up this state is.

I've had so many friends move to Houston who work in the oilfield and like it. Only problems is the property taxes will eat you alive. I love it when they say well Yeah but we don't pay any state income taxes. One way or another, they squeeze it out of you. Property taxes, municipal taxes, MUD taxes, etc.

FL! Everything is cheap, we have excellent schools, growing economy, almost no inflaction. 4000 people move to FL everyday, so we need business and land is cheap but HUGE resale value. We bought our home for 100K, now worth 190K!

Upper Midwest: Minnesota, ND and SD, WIsconsin, Iowa.  Just avoid the largest cities (Milwaukee, Minneapolis-St Paul, Des Moine) and you should be okay.  All five states have excellent public school systems--the best in the country, and all five states have less white trash than you find in many other areas.
