The first time I drank it I hated it.
Then I read about why it tastes like that. What it is made of and the process by which it is made. Then I tried it again, expecting it to taste like it does, but understanding why and identifying the different flavors. I enjoyed it. I have a Laphroig 18 open right now in my liquor cabinet. I also have a Glenmorangie, Oban, and a Bowmore. Each are different for different reasons, and each are drank depending on my mood. Sometimes I want a smokey dram with a particular meal, or a mood. |

Quoted:
If you don't like Laphroaig, there is something missing in your makeup. (not that there is anything wrong with that) PS. You evidently missed the overtones of iodine, road tar, and sea salt. I find it to taste of iodine and turpentine. Not my type of Scotch. |
