It hit me last night during the first period of the Super Bowl.  Had to leave the party early and drive 30 miles home.  Vomitted on the side of the road twice.  Finally made it home and I vomitted like never before.  The heaves were so violent I thought I was going to snap my spine.  Everything I ate for the last 6 months was now plainly before me wreaking and burning my nostrils.

As I was waiting for the sweet release of death, the diarrhea started.   Between the puking and the runs, my wife couldn't stand the sounds coming from my bathroom.  She actually left and went to the store to get out of the house.  I grabbed my Schick Quattro razor blade and was all ready to start sawing into my wrist when the vomitting stopped.  and the runs were reduced to a trickle.

After cleaning up the bathroom and lighting about 30 candles, it looked like I had just built an altar to the horrors that just occurred there.  I went into bed and my body was numb.  I then started to shiver so bad I thought my teeth were going to start falling out.  Upon my wife's return, she covered me with about 4 thick blankets.  Although it was a a good idea in an attempt to keep me warm, it was a bitch getting all of those blankets off the 10 times I had to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

As for now, I'm still freezing and VERY tired.  The vomitting has not returned but the diarrhea rears (no pun intended) its ugly head quite often.  I am at the office taking care of stuff that couldn't wait until tomorrow.  I will probably leave early and go home under all of those blankets with the dogs lying at my feet wanting to help me in any way that they can.

I sincerely hope that none of you get this strain of the flu.  If you have, you already know what you've gone through.  For those who haven't, you have the above description to look forward to.

I picked up the flu at the SHOT Show (along with almost everybody else).

All upper and lower respiratory gunk with a mild fever of 101. Going on day six of it.

My mom had pretty much what you describe.  After three days she was getting so dehydrated I started thinking seriously about hospitalizing her, but she got better.

The Flu shots only good for the perticular strains in it.

If this is a new strain (ie Asian Bird flu comes to mind) then the shot isn't gonna do a thing for someone.

Whatever it is, it's evil.  My Dad has it, and the nursing home my grandmother is at is quarantined.  4 people died from it so far there.   I'm almost a little bit suspicious of this outbreak.
