The other night I traded a m1c Thompson to a fella off arms list for a colt saa. The m1c was like new, with only 50 rounds down the tube. I bought it from a college kid who did not want to have that much tied up in to one gun, I finished off the box of ammo that he half shot up....went meh... and sold it.

Guy goes out, 5th Rd KABOOM....  no photos but it sounds like a out of battery explosion. He said it jammed once and on the next Rd it let go. He said he dumped the extractor out of the gun but nothing looks broken, then he lost the take down button and claimed why the gun exploded was that it was missing.....

Here's the kicker, he's wanting to stop by the shop that I work for so I can order him a replacement...

Sounds more like a squib round.

So... guy KB's his gun, wants to buy another, hows that a "kicker"?

I am assuming he is wanting the OP to provide him with a new one.

The guy shoots squib ammo and KBs his gun, then wants OP to buy him a new one.

Sounds like some BS to me. Worked just fine for you right. Not your fault the guy blew up the gun. Wonder if it was bad reloads, usually almost always is because of this.

Hey I feel bad that his gun kaboomed but IMHO if you buy a used item and it shits the bed your SOL in most cases unless there's a warranty. If I buy a used car and it craps out right when I buy it then I don't demand a new one or even a used replacement, if it is not covered with a warranty I fix it myself.

And this is why I don't meet people at my home or business for transactions. Good luck, op.

You need to nip this in the bud. It worked when you sold it to him, he shot shitty ammo, his problem.

I'd probably tell him sure then ask him while he is at it would he like to screw my wife.

Then I'd tell him to get bent.

Sold a young guy a Toyota Celiac GTS, went for a test ride,  gtg. 2 weeks later he takes it to a shop to have the oil changed, on the way home the motor seizes. Oh well.....

I felt bad but it wasn't my problem at that point. He didn't think so either.

Tell him: his beef is with Federal not you.  If the ammo cause the damage, I would tell him contact Federal and send in the ammo in for them to check it out.  If they find ammo is at
fault then they would deal with him for repairs or replacement.

Both you guys bought items sold as is.

He said neither, but he just wasn't a car guy. Said he knew the shop and they told him the engine was bad.  I was skeptical but he really didn't know what happened.

Semi Thompsons are notorious for having OOB's......Never Ever stand anywhere near right side of gun while someone is shooting them, I know of two people going to Hospital to have brass fragments removed....
