Do you guys put blue loctite on your back up sights?  Just got a set of MBUS and was wondering if I needed to buy some loctite

Yup

Nope. If torqued properly, around 30 inch pounds,  it's not needed.

Don't need it if you only intend to shoot less than about 10 rounds though.

After that, mine get loose without blue loctite.

I use "Small Thread" pink Loctite instead of blue on anything smaller than 1/4 inch.

on the Magpul back up sight I do.    You can have that nut fall out and never find that little sob again.  I use the blue .

Probably so, but I'm lazy and live better through blue thread locker chemistry. And I don't assume every BUIS on the market has the same tq specs.

My precision stuff is torqued, fwiw.

I do, and learned why again today. Got a new AR556, the ruger version of the BUIS was already installed, came lose after two mags. I was wondering why the hell my groups were that bad . I will pick up a tube of loctite this week.

Anything you bolt to your gun that doesn't come off when you field strip it gets loctite.

Nope. Has never came loose in last 1500 rounds.

Just some pink on one particular MI ERS that the roll pin wanted to creep out.

I emailed them asking to buy a new roll pin and they sent me a new ERS at no charge and declined to have me send them back the one with the issue.
