I just pulled one off my belly where he dug in at my belt line. Was reading the thread before this one and scraqtching where I found the little guy. I like how they go POP and shoot away when burned alive with a Bic.

Really mild winter here = a shitton of ticks this summer.

When I have to go to my farm (woods, tall grass, etc) I tuck into my boots and spray the hell out of my legs and clothes from the waste down with deep woods off.  It won't stop 100% of the ticks but it helps.

Yeah it is, the most I've ever found at one time.  Combination of easy winter and a very low traffic trail with lots of tall grass.

I fucking hate ticks.

I wear flea collars on my ankles and soak my self in Cutters, but it's not 100% especially those little seed tick Mfer's. It's going suck bad this year.

I've found more than my share so far this year as well, but nowhere near 34 at one time.

Of course I find them sometimes even when I haven't been out in the yard, a GSD with an itchy back collects them like lint.

All ticks must die. The same applies to chiggers.

Knock on wood, but I haven't seen any ticks this year... yet.

I put sulpher in the yard and seven dust to keep the little fuckers at bay. I liberally dose myself in sulpher at the top of my boots and waist to keep them off me in the woods. I get the sulpher from my local co-op. I think you can get it at Tractor Supply and Farm and Fleet. Works very well IMO.

Treat your clothes with permanone + use DEET = no ticks.

Going to be?  How about already fucking is and has been since last summer.  The mild winter didn't do a damn thing.

I hate a motherfucking blood sucking tick.  Sneaky little bastards, like to wait until you settle in somehow to go to fucking munching.

The only reason ticks are around is so they slow down other prey animals so the predators can catch them.

God DAMN I hate a tick.

+100 on this.  Best shit on the planet for keeping them bitches out of your yard, and one application will work for quite a while.  I get mine at the local plant nursery.

This is why I do not miss living in MO (born and raised down in the Ozarks).  I couldn't go outside without getting ticks on me.  Urrrrrgh.  In 36 years I have yet to be bitten by a tick in CO.

I had it 30 years ago. If they catch it early enough, usually high powered antibiotics will work.

It is still deadly.

This. Permethrin FTW. I sprayed my pants with Permanone one time before picking blackberries. When I got back to the house, there was a brown patch of several hundred dead seed ticks on my pants leg. Just dusted them off. That's what I love about that stuff. It doesn't just repel them, it kills the fuckers.

I've also heard that sulphur is good at keeping these f-ers away.  Die ticks.
