Yup.  Wife comes running into the room nekkid and damned near hysterical wanting to know if  that is a tick crawling across her back.

I'm like, "What was the question"?

Permethrin is your friend.

You can buy the 32 oz. 10% water based permethrin from Amazon for about $24 shipped. Add one ounce to 15 oz. water in a spray bottle... treat your clothes you're going to wear in tick areas with this and let it dry completely. You won't have any problems with ticks, it lasts a long time, and through several washings.

Don't use on skin, and keep it away from cats until it's completely dry (very toxic to cats).

My son and I treated our hunting outfits with this and we haven't had any trouble with ticks since.

That they do. I spend a lot of time paddling rivers in Northern Michigan on extended overnight trips, and ended-up having one attach itself to the back of my right leg. I didn't realize it until I was home three days later. No fun.

I'm still peeling dead skin off my family jewels from a tick who found them last Memorial Day.

So I have to agree.  Ticks suck.  Figuratively and literally.

Mostly figuratively.  I didn't notice the blood loss.
