Sitting around at a track meet all day in shitty ass Walmart bag chairs sucks. What are the best options for comfort, shade, etc.

Kermit is beloved by motorcyclist. You will want the leg extensions. And they aren’t cheap.

A bunch of us have these Helinox. I mean, it's a chair and it isn't uncomfortable, fairly light weight and compact. Expensive and I didn't get a vote in the purchase. I can't find mine on there, mine is from Orvis, it's coyote, and it doesn't have the mesh at the hips, it is comfy with a pistol on, same maker though.

I dig my GCI rocker, no bag, carry strap, doesn’t sink into soft ground.

Maybe not the most tier 1 from a price standpoint but better than the cheapies and requires no assembly.

Yeti makes a really comfortable chair.  Made in China though.

I have had mine for a year and love it

I like those types but Id really prefer an armrest. The rocker chairs are bulky from what I've seen.

Arfcom costing me money again!

I second third the GCI Rocker's.    I have the "Free Style" model. Absolutely love it. Light weight, but solid construction. Folds up and transports easy. I use mine for watching the kids play sports, etc.

I have a couple Helinox beach chairs. They are light and small. Fairly expensive, but sturdy. I'm 350 and they have held up fine. a little bending on the seat poles but nothing you would notice unless you are looking.

Packability bro. You got to have it with you. Small compact light. Durable. and comfortable to sit in for a while.

Snow Peak makes a couple of great beach chairs that are super comfy and fairly lightweight.  And they break down into "bag" size, rather than "folding lawn chair" size.

I like them because they don't murder the bottoms of my hamstrings, like the cheaper foldup bag chairs do.

They are a bit expensive, but you could maybe find a knockoff that has the same level of comfort.

The Helinox Ground Chair is my new favorite backpacking chair. It's much more of a "lounger" than a "sit at the table" chair, but that works for me.

Stand up. I rarely sit in chairs at the kids games.

I don’t need a lounge chair.

Have been using this kind for years. The back of the chair is sewn to the seat with both remaining relatively tight separately. No sag when you sit down in the chair and very easy to get out and stand up. The locking feature keeps it from collapsing on you when you sit it in. Comes with a strapped carrying bag, but also has a carry strap on the chair as well if you want to ditch the bag once you pull it out of the car.

If we set these up in a group gathering, have to be careful when we come back to sit in them. People with the crappy WalMart special sag chairs ditch theirs fast and are sitting in these when you return

Just strap one of these to it and should be good to go for your all day track meets

This guy gets it. If you are not looking for light weight, this is the best camp chair I have ever had (and I have tried a lot). Big and sturdy. Im hard on the ones I have, and 4 yrs in...still working like new.

I have that black one a few posts from the OP,  I bought a Helinox Savanna and a Yeti Trailhead.

Can confirm that the Helinox sucks, meaning that it is a shitty sack chair that pinches behind my knee and puts my legs to sleep.  Everyone in the family tried it - no bueno.

Yeti is magnificent.  Nice curvature behind the knee. No pinch points.

I've had the black one for years, also magnificent and reclines great.  Has a pinch point near the arm wrest for the recline lock that will pinch chunks of flesh off of your fingers if not careful.

Another vote for the Alps Mountaineering King Kong chair. Best folding chair I've sat in, but they're not lightweight. So it's a good Jeep chair, but not really a backpacking chair.

I've sat in folding chairs that cost $40 and were quite comfortable, and I've sat in chairs that cost $400 and felt like I needed an hour on a traction table after sitting in it for 30 minutes.

You don't need to spend more than $100 to get a quality, comfy folding chair. If you spend more than that you're buying more than a chair, you're buying a status brand name and the statement "I'm not a poor" along with the chair. If that's your thing, then fine, but be honest and admit it.

We have two of the Timber Ridge Poplar Zero Gravity Loungers.

They're heavy, and a little complex to fold and unfold. As in, those old gas station street maps are a breeze by comparison. As in, OSHA should shut them down they have so many unguarded pinch points.

On the upside, they're almost as comfortable as a nice piece of furniture. Once in the damn thing, you really don't want to get out. And it has a clip on beer holder
