| I read someplace once that when animals like big cats are bred in captivity, they're often raised alongside more domesticated animals like dogs and such, and the dogs hang around when they're taking the cats through situations that might be stressful -- they're used to the dogs because they grew up together, and when the dogs don't flip out about whatever, the cats take their cues from the dog and don't stress out as much. |
