How old is the house? Are there any cracks in the floor? If the floor has been in a few years and no cracks have developed and there is no sealer or paint on it, I would just clean it well and tile right over it. I tiled a concrete floor that had Vinyl tiles on it. I removed all the loose glue and I had no problems with adhesion. Take some time and layout the tiles prior to troweling the mortar. Snap some chaulk lines to keep your pattern straight. Adjust the layout to Avoid small peices along the the edges in the hallway and Bath. |
