I heard an old Tim Wilson song today and thought of my fellow ARFCOMERS. Hope somebody here can see the humor in this. Its a Sorry World You can go to war when you're eighteen, But you can't buy a beer. You can launch missles from a submarine, But you can't own a pistol here. You can breath chemical weapons fumes, But they don't want you to smoke. So when they fly your ass to Bagdad, Don't order a rum and coke. You can have sex when you're seventeen, But you can't have a senator or rep. You're not old enough for a slot machine, Or to lay down a football bet. But they'll take you at the clinic if you're twelve years old, And your folks don't have to know. You can get an abortion, Just don't watch people get naked on video. You can be a govenor at 21, Or the President at 35. You can be a supreme court justice, if you can just stay alive. They will throw you in with sharks when you're ten years old, Teaching you to scuba dive. If your 94 and can't see anymore, They'll still let you drive. Just don't get caught with a beer in your hand, If you just turned eighteen. They don't mind you owning an acetalyne torch, And a gallon of gasoline. But don't buy smokes at the liquor store, Or you'll both go to jail. But they can sell you the rope to hang yourself, While you listen to Nine inch nails. It's a sorry world, Its a sorry world.
