These things are the bees knees. I stripped the oil level thread, internal threads in my engine block on my nice ass 2014 250 sx while drunk. I was so pissed at myself and having a freak out. Well i bought a 6mm time sert, drilled, tapped and after flushing the gear box w a bunch of cheaper oil I installed it with some red locktite. Rode it a few times and so far no leaks and I can actually crank the bolt down alot harder now since the insert is steel.

I almost bought a helicoil but after doing some research I found more people said time sert was much better. Not sure if true but I highly recommend time sert now.

Wait until it strips out, then report.

God no, I hope not. People say they don't where as the helicoils do. The time sert wasn't cheap either so I hope not.

How friggin tight does the oil level plug need to be?

What does the manual say to torque it to?
