I think you have less to worry about liberals from the NE coming into the conservative hell of Texas and more to worry about the latino voters who are pouring over the border several thousand a night.
Why would a liberal move from a liberal wonderland like Maryland, New Jersey, or New York into a small government place like Texas. It doesn't make a lick of sense at all. |

When working for Fedex I was sent to Denver in January of 1995 for training as a Courier. Met some guys that come from Detroit. The jobs outlook was going to shit even then in Michigan. They were looking for a better life. Can't blame them but the culture came with them. Now look at Colorado. Very sad. |

Since the US is often compared to the Roman Empire, consider that Rome peaked sometime in the first century AD, and fell in the early 400's to the barbarians, with the roman byzantine holding out for even centuries after that.
Let us hope that America takes longer than that, although it should come as no surprise that 1000 years from now the US will be unrecognizable in its current territorial and political form. |

You have to define the question better, but I think we have maybe 20~30 years worth of deficit spending driven good times.
However, that might be my natural optimism-wishful thinking showing through. How long has GB managed to devalue her currency? When will we reach same the level of debt? I would love to see a factual and honest comparison between the income-to-spending and debt ratios of GB and the US. Are we going to fall hard and fast? Or just slide down slowly? That's the question. |
