Yay or Nay?
Say him in concert at Jamboree in the hills a few weeks back and he completely blew the concert away!! Just seeing what everyone's opinion of him is. |

Tubby, liberal, douche bag, poser. I remember when he released his first album nationwide. He was a fat tub of goo and his videos made him look like a pussy. Now he's a blue collar hero. That peckerhead gives me gas.Good indication on what works in this country, then.

Some of his songs are pretty good if you like the genre. If you don't like "Beer for my horses" there's something not right about you.
He is a democrat, but more in the traditional pre-LBJ sense. He does support the troops USO tours etc, but wasn't fully supportive of the Iraq invasion. |

alot of people talking out of their asses in here on this thread.
Toby is/was a blue dog Democrat like many of us in Oklahoma. our Democrats are far more conservative than 95% of the republicans in office currently. Toby's quote on Obama was taken completely out of context. he never was an Obamite. He was a McCain man thru and thru. this thread comes up over and over... he has NEVER been a lib. |

| I don't care what the whiners say, he's a good guy. I've seen him several times in the AOR, and he seems to do USO trips about once a quarter. He puts on a good show and he and his crew seem like good down to earth people (I helped them pack up their gear after a concert once). I don't care what his misguided politics are, he genuinely supports the troops. |

What, you never encountered a Texan? You live in Oklahoma. Like a lot of other Okies, Toby got infected with that Texas holier than thou attitude. His hats look like a dickhead . He holds a very high opinion of himself, and you know what they say about opinions.............
I'm living it right now, I'm sitting in Antlers |

Fuck Toby Keith and the Obama train he rode in on. He's coming to town with Trace Adkins in a few months. Sorry, Trace you should pick a better touring partner. No money from me to support his liberal ass. Dem does NOT equal lib in the south. However, Southern Republicans, like Mike Huckabee tend to be pretty liberal. A tax raising, illegal loving cocksucker. Then you have Dems like Mike Beebe, that unlike Huckabee, have signed pro gun bills and lowered taxes. |

Toby Keith, perhaps best known to non-country audiences for his post-Sept. 11 song "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue," says he's a Democrat, and was impressed by the senator from Illinois. Keith has said in the past that the 2002 song _ which included lines aimed at the Taliban like "we lit up your world like the Fourth of July" _ was more patriotic than pro-war. Asked while promoting his new movie "Beer For My Horses" about the role of patriotism in the current presidential election, Keith replied: "There's a big part of America that really believes that there is a war on terrorism, and that we need to finish up. "So I thought it was beautiful the other day when Obama went to Afghanistan and got educated about Afghanistan and Iraq. He came back and said some really nice things. "So as far as leadership and patriotism goes, I think it's really important that those things have to take place. And I think he's the best Democratic candidate we've had since Bill Clinton. And that's coming from a Democrat." |

Fuck Toby Keith and the Obama train he rode in on. This. There is very little country music I'll listen to already............. his support of obaongo just soured it a little further. He has a few good songs , but I miss his pro-US, pro-American attitude that was around during the first few years of the war. |

Wasn't he an obongo supporter ? Yes. And a douchebag that makes horrible music. He's the In Sync of country and western. Unknown Hinson would beat his ass for playing that bull mess. THIS. Got a funny story about a REAL country legend that was gettin high with him in front of his tour bus, and didn't even realize who the hell he was.

A later article Longtime Democrat Toby Keith is registering to vote as an independent and says the left wing's verbal attacks against Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin could lead to a win for John McCain in November, the singer-songwriter said Thursday (Oct. 2) in an interview with CMT.com. Keith also cited erroneous headlines and reports in the media indicating that he supports Democrat Barack Obama. "I said that he had a chance to win it as the [party's] best candidate since Bill Clinton," Keith said. "I said McCain is very able to run this country, too. Very qualified. ... They didn't put anything about McCain and Palin. They just put that Toby Keith supports Obama." Keith said the Democratic party no longer represents his views. "I've been a lifetime Democrat, and I'm re-registering this year as an independent," he said. "It's strictly [because] my party, that I've been affiliated with all these years, doesn't stand for anything that I stand for anymore. They've lost any sensibility that they had, and they've allowed all the kooks in, so I'm going independent." He's convinced the attacks on Palin are likely to backfire on the Democrats. "It's just like this: If I was a strong supporter of Obama and Biden ... the kooks in the Democratic party –– this extreme left –– are hammering Palin so bad, that they're gonna cause John McCain to win this thing," he said. Keith said he will probably vote for McCain because Palin is his running mate. |

I'm sure the fact that he was promoting his new movie amidst a shitstorm from his fan base had nothing to do with that retraction. I automatically dismiss anyone who references says things like "He came back and said some really nice things." Impressed by Obongos typical simple minded drivel, which explains a lot about much of his music. He can shove his head up his honky tonk badonk a donk for all I care. |

Next time any of you tour the middle east with the USO on a regular basis or even send some care packages overseas, then you can talk shit about Toby Keith all you want.
Until then, sit in your basement and be angry at anyone who doesn't see eye to eye with you... |
