One of the platoon leaders I work with said that he had Tombstone on his TiVo to watch a few nights ago, and that he had never seen it.  After I verbally accosted him as cordially as possible, he said he would watch it last night.  He watched it and told me that he believed it was simply horrible and was comparable to "Gone with the wind with guns".

Needless to say I've been doing my best val kilmer/doc holiday impression for him all day till he agrees to watch it again and implement common sense.

Tell me, is there any excuse for having taste that bad?

1 of maybe 3 movies thats rocks with a huge cast of stars.
if your not a fan of Kurt Russell and can't recite 3 lines from Val Kilmers role in this movie, one being in Latin, than I suggest you watch it again.

"I'm your huckleberry!"

"You're no daisy."

Kilmer had most of the good lines in that movie, but I did like Russell's, "Well, are you gonna do something, or just stand there and bleed?"

I can see giving the LT a break.

Actually, the first time I saw it I really wasn't all that fond of it.  It wasn't until I saw it a couple of times that I really began to appreciate it.  I saw the error of my ways, and now appreciate just how much ass it kicks.

I read an interview with Kurt Russel a year or so ago, and in it he said he barely beat out Richard Gere for the part of Wyatt. Ha! That would have made for the suckiest western ever!

Tombstone was a great flick......

In case anyone was wondering what a Wyatt Earp signed document would bring, this just came up at auction.

Tom Selleck?????

Yes.  Selleck starred in a movie called "Ike" about Eisenhower in the D-Day period.  He really made you feel the weight of command.  His staff told him to expect 70% casualties with the airborne forces.  With that info he had to make the decision whether to launch.

It was a pretty good performance.
