Quoted: Dude, that song is nearly 20 years old. Which is funny, because Tool is the one band that comes to mind when I try to think of bands that got better over time. Most people will comment that they liked _____'s older stuff more than the newer stuff. There are some bands I feel that way about <cough>INCUBUS!</cough>, but the observation seems cliche. Tool is the opposite. Pre-Ænima Tool is a bit mediocre. Ænima was great, Lateralus was awesome, and 10,000 Days was phenomenal. Hopefully, they can work through their differences and produce something soon.

Especially when you understand what Maynard's mom went through and how he pulls that experience into so many of his songs. |

I actually liked Tool when, and before, I saw them years ago in concert and later, a perfect circle. Tremendously Unimpressive shows that I saw. "Welcome to Lewiston, put on a great show" no doubt.
Son of a bitch that I am, just give me David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, or Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. God, I'm old at 29. |

I can't think of too many activities that aren't boring compared to a Tool concert. |

From I've seen and heard, they faithfully reproduce their songs, all the while mixing it up with artistic deviations. Plus the singer can actually sing like he does on the records. not many can these days FWIW Im a big tool fan, just a bigger Incubus fan |

I've seen some great concerts, but I think Tool holds a pretty solid position at the top. The only band I've seen that comes close in terms of live awesomeness is Primus.

I have no love for incubus. Last time I listened to one of their albums, it felt like they weren't even trying with the non-single songs. Tool all the way! I eagerly anticipate the day that they will come out with a new album. honestly, most times when I buy one of their new albums, it takes me a few months to fully appreciate it. I have to work at it |

I have to work at it I've only had that experience with 10,000 Days. I'm still working my way through it and it's been years already. Good album, but no Lateralus IMO. A few good songs and then the little 3-songs-into-one experiment. |
| I defy anyone to listen to Right in Two and tell me they have gotten worse. There is shit going on in that song musically that is mind blowing. Yeah they are not as angry and more thoughtful than Aenima - I hope I get less angry and more thoughtful as I get older too. |

Tool is and will always be one of my five favorite bands of all time. Even though I was unimpressed with 10,000 days, same for me. Don't get me wrong, it's a good album. But as others have said, Lateralus was hard to follow up. As far as live shows go: I was lucky enough to see Tool for the Lateralus tour. It was an incredible show of course. But I also saw Nine Inch Nails on the Lights in the Sky tour. Granted there were 6+ years worth of new technology to work with, but NIN's live show blew away anything else I have seen to date. The backdrops, visualizations, and lighting perfectly complimented the music. |
