I know, Maybe some of you are saying " dammit Triumph, another tool question?" Answer is yes. But if this is the first time you have seen me post about tool purchases, great! I've been on a buying binge acquiring mostly SK and a few snap on screwdrivers to put in my box for work. However, For home use, I am wanting to know about a certain brand. Allen tools? When ever I do a Google search 95% of the results are Hex key Allen wrench related and if I'm luck maybe a small review about a guy and his 5 combination wrenches. I have an opportunity to get a 200 piece set for a fairly discounted price and wonder if Arfcom has had any experience with them. |

How good do you need the tools to be? Allen is another of those tool names that is Chinese made. That just means that tolerances are all over the place and the metalurgy of the steel may not be too good. But if you're just doing house hold stuff, like putting together IKEA furniture, they'll be fine. |
| They should be ok tools. Allen is owned by Danaher which also owns Armstrong, Easco hand tools. They make Craftsman sockets and Stanley and NAPA brands. Looks like they are capitalizing on the Allen name recognition. They're ok tools, not Snapon or Matco but still very good. |
Its what i did, except for one difference. I got a whole bunch of husky tools cheap from a snapon truck that repo'd some guys box. |
