In this thread we post our favorite tools. Power tools, hand tools, whatever. Here's mine: http://toolmonger.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/post-dewaltdriver.jpg GO! I picked up one of those a few months ago. Definitely up there in the most useful tool category. |
I made every part except for the springs and SHCSs

It's a dead blow hammer. The majority of the impact force is transferred to the object being hit with a minimum amount of that force being redirected back through rebound. Quoted:

http://www.hunt101.com/data/567/medium/hammer.jpeg What do you use it for? I've heard of it, but not really sure in what application it would be used. |

My first thought was your original pic (DeWalt impact driver). I held out for a while from getting one, thinking they were all hype, until I bought one and used it for driving deck screws into 100+ year old joists. Now, I can't imagine driving screws without it. (except for pocket screws which get over driven) Larger machinery would be my Jet cabinet saw. (I had to sell my 20" band saw when I moved) Small tools would be my Leatherman (flame suit on). I am never without it on the weekends. I don't go 30 minutes without using it. |
