OK, I'll admit to being a cheap bastard.
I carry a tracfone phone in my truck and in my boat for emergency use. The cost per phone is under $11.00 a month, and I have seen them out perform some of my buddies' Spint, Verizon etc phones...

I used most of my minutes while on a recent tarpon trip to SW Florida; so it's time to recharge a couple hundred minutes. In the past, I'd check their website and compare prices with offers on eBay, but I have been unable to access their website for the last 4-5 days. This is kind of unusual... Especially since they claim their site is "down" because of high volume from the Memorial Day holiday.

Does anyone know if something is going on with this outfit?
I'd hate to buy some airtime and then find out that they are going under.

Again, I'm cheap!
Anyone know?

just tried their website and had no problem.  I too am a cheap bastard!  Great to have a spare in the truck while going hither, thither and yon.

FYI, there's a couple of web sites I've found with various special promotional codes that give you extra minutes on top of the value of the cards you buy.   One was fatwallet.com and the other is a yahoo group thats specific to tracfones.

I use a tracfone sometimes.  It's pretty cheap.

GF uses one for her fulltime cellphone but I don't.

Mine runs out of time before it runs out of minutes.  I have a couple hundred minutes on mine because i buy 3 month 60 minute cards all the time to keep it active.
