I am getting something and was wondering what you all thought of this bill of sale, I didn't write it but was wondering if it sounded legit: BILL OF SALE Know All Men By These Presents: That in consideration of ____________________($____) and other valuable consideration, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, that ___________________ (SELLER) does hereby sell, transfer and deliver unto ________________________ (BUYER) his right, title and interest in and to and assigns forever, the following described goods and chattels: _ Make: ______________ _ Model: ______________ _ Type: ______________ _ Caliber: ______________ _ Serial number: ______________ Seller warrants and represents that he/she has good title to said property, full authority to sell and transfer same and that said goods and chattels are being sold free and clear of all liens, encumbrances, liabilities and adverse claims, of every nature and description. Quoted: So what do you think? Oz FWIW - I wouldn't sign a damn thing in relation to a private party sale. I only sign the 4473 at the store. Someone is trying to cover thier ass by getting you to sign it. I don't see the harm but that doesn't mean there is none. I just don't sign anymore. |

I wouldn't sign it. No offense, but if you're writing up a receipt like this, I'd have serious reservations about the gun itself and what you might be hiding. If its in good condition, get a receipt saying, Oz Mod on 02/04/03 hereby sells a Rem 700 308, serial number xyz to Joe Jackass for the price of $___. Included in the sale is surplus ammo, which the buyer assumes all liability and risk, since the seller has no control over the quality or safety of said ammunition. Signed, Oz Mod Joe Jackass Anything more would be uncivilized! |
