Okay, have to go to Iowa tomorrow from Missouri. I know IA's CCW laws suck like Obama, but what about keeping one in the trunk, any issues there?

Nope, I used to live there and transporting in the trunk is ok. I wouldn't have it loaded though... lol
ETA: without a CCW I'm pretty sure you can keep in on the passenger seat as long as it's loaded and cased... um... I know their DNR considers a gun loaded if there are rounds in a detachable mag, but I think loaded mags are ok for non-hunting situations. |

some of the counties issue CCW pretty easily, but a lot don't... it's totally fucking gay how they leave it up to the sheriffs of each county.
Between their gay gun laws and gay shotgun only deer hunting (and virtually NO public hunting land) it's a shithole state for shooters and hunters. |

Once you get you concealed carry license it becomes your purchase permit and it needs to be renewed every year. If you end up moving to Cedar Rapids you might want to check out iowacarry.org. They have a good county by county map of how the sheriffs issue carry permits. Linn county is listed as Reasonable permit issuance, no restrictions. Good Luck on the interview! |
