Is this stuff fine for treating well water in place of bleach?

Super Shock-It brand

68% Calcium Hypochlorite
32% Other ingredients

Ive been told that mixing one teaspoon with 2 gallons of water will yield the same chlorine content as bleach.

Yes, as long as those 'other ingredients' aren't things like algecide or anything harmful. You should check the MSDS to make sure there is nothing harmful and if everything checks out, you'll be GTG.
