| Okay tried posting at Troubleshooting and no response. My bushmaster has developed a problem, the selector switch is stuck in the fire position but the trigger will not release(like it is stuck on safe). I have never had this problem before but have changed two things, put a LMT enhanced bolt on it which I did check the head spacing with a go gauge, and then also changed the pinned CAR stock out for one of the stubby entry model stocks. |

Have you opened the rifle up and looked at the moving parts? Sounds like the hammer is forward - only when the hammer is back is there enough room for the safety to rotate to safe. The trigger should prevent the safety from rotating until the sear engages. Just crack that thing open and have a look - you might have something trapped under the back end of the trigger - below the disconnector on the safety end of the trigger pin. |
