I love all the fiscal conservatives on GD. $40T+ in debt. $150T in unfunded liabilities. And NOW we have to get serious about gubmit giveaways. Government exists to give away money. That's the mission statement. It's going to happen. The only question is are you going to get any of it? Jesus Christ couldn't get elected on a detailed balance budget plan, let alone one that would fund the entitlements and pay down debt over a century. We're fighting a battle that we lost 60 years ago. |

I sincerely hope that there will be Republicans that will voice opposition to this. I am saddened, but not surprised, that there are folks that are rationalizing this as "Well the Democrats do it so....." or "It's either this or the DSA talks control of the legislature." Maybe they should be asking themselves how it is that we reached this point? It might have a lot to do with the fact that most Americans aren't impressed with trolling the libs, the mean tweets, renaming stuff, or the stupid AI memes. They wanted Trump to follow through on what he ran on. But it appears that it was more or less lies to get elected so that he can get his pound of flesh out of his 2nd term. The red hatters don't care, but the folks that actually move the needle on election day, the moderates and the independents, very well could end up staying home as they see the system is broken if this is the best the Republican Party can do vs having to vote for a DSA candidate. I vividly remember back in 2004 being sent out to one of the reservations to watch polls and interviewing witnesses that were claiming that the Democrats were not only giving folks a ride to the polls, but also watching them vote and then giving them cigarettes and alcohol, i.e, voting fraud. Now we have a sitting president openly proposing/committing voting fraud which would be on the tax payer's dime. |

A more believable promise would be floating a $1000 per family gas card. That would completely offset the price jump for about 6 months. They did it during covid, so why not this? |
