Just an observation from a Canadian who can't mind his own business. Has anyone else noticed that the vast majority of people who were against Ron Paul are now (typically) very much for Donald Trump? I've noticed this in the media (both US and Canadian), and in my 'real life' conversations over the last few weeks. #TrumpBot logic: Ron Paul is a fake conservative, whereas Donald Trump is a real conservative. #TrumpBot logic: Ted Cruz or Rand Paul are too extreme, we need someone who is electable, like Donald Trump. |

He's for Trump's assault weapon ban, amnesty, donation of hundreds of millions to democrats... yup, this man has strooooooooooong moral convictions.

| I haven't really focused yet on candidates, to early yet. Most will fall by the wayside, usually through their own actions or some past transgressions. I do have to admit that the stuff he comes out with is, at least to me, funny as hell though sadly, they do hold a kernel of truth at their core. I'd love to sit at a table, nursing a beer and watching him and Biden just pop things off. It would be a comedy act. |
|
Many are just happy he's not afraid to speak the truth. Fuck the pussy ass GOP RINOs and their pandering to Obama, illegals and terrorists.
I'm not saying Trump is the answer but as long as he's pissing off the left and the RINOs he's doing a good job. I would like to see Rand & Cruz myself. |
| I'd like to see Cruz, Paul and Walker at the forefront in this race. What I have to give Trump credit on is that he getting heard. Most Americans don't know who the first 3 guys listed are. I think the reps are so used to and scared of everything they say being used against them by the media that they say nothing and it is keeping them from firing up their base and gaining from the un-decided. We need a conservative who is a brawler, a guy who will speak out for what he believes, isn't afraid of getting dirty and will bloody his knuckles when necessary. This high road shit is costing us our country one election at a time. |

This transparent troll thread is now transformed into a meme thread. http://cdn.meme.am/instances/500x/55793404.jpg His full and exact quotes on universal healthcare, amnesty, assault weapons bans, and donation list has been posted on here dozens of times in the past 24 hours. Probably thousands in the past 2 weeks. Not sure how you deem that "bullshit" unless you mean to say every lying word out of Trump's mouth is full of bullshit. Then yes, yes it is. |

Trump offers the same benefits as Ron Paul, which is why I like this.
Paul's candidacy induced the Republican establishment to act in bad faith openly, pushing many libertarians formerly wedded to the lesser-evil, every-election-is-armageddon model to get more realistic about the political system, its consequences, and alternatives. Paul was a step forward, and thus necessarily only affected the fringe. Trump promises the possibility of another awakening, affecting a larger, more mainstream fraction of the GOP. |

Not one cent before. That would be CRAZYTALK. You know what we call folk that change their mind with every shifting wind? Fair weather folk. |

Quoted: I have no use for Trump, but he threw a turd in the punchbowl, and that's s good thing. He has no further purpose now and ought to fade away. Pretty much what I think. The Media had their list of issues they were going to cover during this election -- Confederate flag, racist gun owners, Frat Boyz rapin' everyone on campus -- and Trump blew it all up. |

That's not fair weather folk, that's getting shit done and making millions. Not everyone's life revolves around gun laws. |

Does anybody argue Trump is a real conservative? I've never heard anyone say so. When Trump supporters go on talk radio, they say things like "He speaks his mind" and "He tells it like it is". Ok.....but, that makes him qualified for president? He's plainly full of shit on everything else (have Mexico pay for a border wall, stop being taken to the cleaners by China, a fabulous plan to beat ISIS). I understand that by both major parties and most fringe parties favoring amnesty, it has left millions of people who consider it their top concern with nowhere to go. Trump gave them an option. But he's not the best option. Ted Cruz is against illegal immigration and is far more qualified than Trump. Once Trumps burns out, Cruz is in a good position to get his supporters by being anti-immigration without being so bombastic about it. You might have noticed Cruz never says a bad word about Trump. Cruz's poll numbers suck, but I think that's mostly Trump's fault. His fundraising numbers are great, he's 2nd behind Bush. |

He sees an opportunity in the weakness of the GOP. So many are sick and tired of their elected Republican leaders blinking and caving at every encounter with Obama over the past six years. They are also tired of the establishment Republicans pushing to legalize illegal aliens simply so the Chamber of Commerce interest can have access to a huge pool of cheap labor. In the wake of this dissatisfaction, Trump is able to cast himself as the alternative top the "sell out" GOP. I don't think he has the street cred to claim to be a true conservative...again he's just being opportunistic. |

We don't have any perfect conservatives running. But, we certainly have some candidates that are significantly more conservative than other candidates and likewise some that are significantly more electable than others. To say otherwise is foolishness. |

Those donations to Democrats may make Trump a smart businessman, but they don't make him a principled conservative. Let's be honest here, Trump has amassed a fortune such that he could have decided years ago to put his principles before his business ambitions. That he did not speaks volumes. |

The Paulbots were fucking annoying as hell. The word also rolls easily off the tongue.
For the Trump supporters I recommend Trump Chumps, it has a much smoother sound. When they give him money they can call it a "Trump Dump". When he shits the bed in a debate they can call it a "Trump Stump". So many catchphrases. I'm glad he is in the pool of candidates to add a little color to the dead white, bleached corpses of the establishment Republicans. |
