http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/24622-trump-s-amplifies-his-second-amendment-position On Friday Donald Trump posted an expanded version of his position on the Second Amendment, including his position on concealed carry permits. |

I'm hopeful that we'll get some pro gun stuff accomplished this go around. If we don't, we need to do some serious work in the mid-terms. House, Senate, President - and a legacy of the previous 8 years of Democrat rule shoveling shit down our throats and telling us to compromise - we have all the impetus we need, I think, to get our shit done. |

Interesting quandary for permitless carry states. Maybe just issue a card? Valid photo ID like a drivers license could work? This. If you can verify you're from a permitless state and are thus allowed to carry, the DL should be enough. That's what I'm taking away from the biased article. |

He gets it. The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving — which is a privilege, not a right — then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege. |

I don't need a license for attending church, I don't need a permit to read a book or newspaper, I don't need permission to defend myself. That said, any step in the right direction is welcome. |

If this law passes, we only need one state in the union to have a super-pro-2A CC law and non-resident permit issue and everything is good to go. Pass the fed reciprocity, then have a state like UT or WY or OK or something pass a ultra-liberal / low cost non-resident CCL and all is good. Even people in NYC could get that shit and flip the bird to their city/state. It'd be epic. |

Do all of the above AND push HPA AND NFA reform. |

First 100 days is going to be a National Reciprocity law. Good. I can carry in all 50 states now but everyone that has passed a state concealed carry class should be able to also in my opinion. Bet places like New York and California go crazy over this lol. |

First 100 days is going to be a National Reciprocity law. As someone who has to cross the border between free New Hampshire and communist Massachusetts on a near daily basis, this would do more to change my life than nearly anything else he could accomplish during his presidency. There is NO excuse for it not to happen. There are current bills in both the Senate and the House, and we will go into his first term with a Republican controlled house, senate, and President. Let's make this REAL. |

I remember election night some butthurt never trumpers were saying they would be here to laugh in our faces when Trump signed his first gun ban.
I think the canadian was one of them, can't remember. Looks like he just repeated verbatim what Jr has been saying in recent months. "But Jr isn't running...." Well, it looks like Jr writes his 2A stuff. Good enough for me. |

They'll be too busy rioting over "Trump hates immigrants even though he married one" to even notice it happening. |

Drive through New York and now you're a felon.

A laaarge number of democrat senators up for reelection in 2018 are from red states like MT, ND, etc, where gun owners are the vast majority. Make those F'ers join the pro-2A trump train or jeopardize their own reelection. Most of those weasels will roll if pushed sufficiently. |

If this gets passed, we need to force non-compliant stats to be held accountable.
I highly suspect that states like MA (my home state), IL, CA, NJ, NY, MD, DE, WA, OR etc will resist this law and they need to be held accountable. What is the most effective way to do this assuming that the law passes? We need to start thinking about this now to force the issue if they resist. |

I can shoot machineguns in his yard all day long. But if I cross the stone wall at the back of the property with a fucking empty shell in my pocket, I am a felon. This is the kind of terrifying crap that a lot of people just don't understand. |

The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right — it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple. What radical common sense! |
