I want a way to secure a long gun in my trunk. I would prefer that the mounting option accept shotguns, ar15 rifles, and a long bolt gun, not at the same time though.

I have placed my shotgun in there right now and it is the perfect length that the stock end and the light hold it in place but it is not that secure.

What ideas do all of you have? Maybe some kind of Velcro straps to the upper part of the trunk, rack style attachment to the back wall, etc.

Thanks,
Grant

Edit: not sure why the pictures aren't coming up, they did in the preview.

I have always felt up was better.
no one will see it when you open your trunk to get something.

the catch has always been how can you get it out fast. one handed preferably.
maybe a hanger on the barrel end and some sort of quick clamp on the stock end.

Either on the underside of the rear deck or right up against the opening closest to the bumper. Need to be able to get to it regardless if you have stuff in there or not. If you want to get more in depth build a false panel/compartment on your trunk lid and put it in there.
