| Any ideas of what to do in early October in Tucson. I think the wife and I are coming out that way to visit Kitt observatory and I was wondering if anyone had other things to do or could recommend a nice place to stay for around 150-200 a night. |

How long will you be there? Drive down to Tombstone and/or Bisbee if you've got time. Bisbee is cool, the Pima air museum is cool too. Saguaro national park on the NE side of town is beautiful. I spent a week in Tucson last Christmas and the best time I had was walking around out in the desert looking at the wildlife; its so different from what we have back east. |

sabino canyon tram ride/ hike to seven falls Oh yeah, that. I did that I think 12/31 last year, it was beautiful. (It was also 80 degrees! I went home the next day and a few weeks later it was -20 for a few days. The hundred degree spread from vacation to home is a real bitch) |

Get a motorcycle if you really want to experience Kitt Peak, Mt. Lemmon or Arivaca Road. They will curl your toes.
Kitt Peak Mt. Lemmon Arivaca Road |

If you like hummingbirds, go to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum.

If you are there during the first 2 weeks of Nov make sure you go to the All Souls Procession!
whatever else you do, don't abandon your friend or mate after coming out of a bar. Go hiking, you wont regret it! Oh and go shooting also! Pima Air and Space Museum!!!! |

The quail hunting is pretty good, a 3-day out of state permit is $60. And you can always go shooting at Redington Pass to the NE of Tucson. On Speedway, East of Roger, there is a roadside mexican food place (Karmelo King). They cook everything on an open mesquite fire, and it is the best mexican food I've ever tasted. It's open in the evenings on friday and saturday in the parking lot of Sparkle Car Wash. |

hmmm, I was up there at the old radar site by the telescopes a few years back. Interesting stuff up there but I was never told about a silo. They may have filled it in but I know there was one there...somewhere. I don't think it was well publicized as the Mount was kind of a tourist area - especially in the winter. |
