Can you strain and restore or is it a one time use? How long before it goes rancid?

I used to fry one at my grandmas, 2 at my MIL's and 1 at my mothers over the course of Thanksgiving week, all using the same batch of peanut oil.  At that point I would toss it out, not because it couldn't do more, but because that was all the turkey I could stand for a while.

Burn it in the oil drip you put in your wood stove out in the shop.

Carefully measure oil first, don't burn your house down.
Not sure, about reusing but if your not planning on reusing it the next day I would just buy new.
I always do. Ruining a good turkey before thanksgiving would be a huge downer.

I just cooked a goose last week. Long, skinny body. When I submerged it into my fresh oil, I realized it wasn't nearly fat enough to displace the oil over the bird.  So I wound up adding a ton of year-old used oil. It was probably 60% new, 40% old. The old oil smelled fine and the goose and some zucchini fritters I cooked up at the end tasted fantastic.
