flightsuits are considered the Uniform of the Day for pilots. shit.. some that arnt pilots are deemed to wear them... i still have 2 ... dont fit anymore.. but when they did they wer comfy as hell and lot of pockets I some some pics of Army in Iraq wearing flight suits too. Army UAVs are flown by Non-Comissioned Officers (Sergeants) in their ACUs.
Air Force UAVs are flown by pilot-qualified/pilot-wings wearing officers in flight suits. The Air Force's UAVs don't have auto-land hardware/software in case something goes wrong with the bird. Guess which service loses far more multi-million dollar UAVs? "College degree to fly it. High school diploma to fix it." |

I work with pilots all the time. In my experience, those who are authorized to wear flight suits will do so at every opportunity, strictly for the comfort/convenience factor. It also helps they are issued the flight suits for free and can turn them in for replacement when needed. I work with pilots who haven't flown in years but wear the flight suit for that reason. |
