Strange, I mentioned Chavies to an Englishman once and he was shocked I was familiar with that term, but then went on to say that where he was from in England they typically called them Pikeys around there, but that it was the same thing. I think it was South England, like Brighton. But I could be way off. He didn't sound like he was from Liverpool or Birmingham. Sounded closer to a London accent dialect generally. |
