Okay, I am needing to ship a firearm (handgun) to an FFL dealer in Florida and an FFL dealer in Kentucky. I called the ups number and asked them if there was anything special that I needed to do, besides declare that it is a firearm, and the lady told me that I cannot ship a firearm unless I am an FFL holder. I told her otherwise but she said that I could not ship with them. So I looked this up from the ATF: "(B8) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier? A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm." So that would say that I can! Does anyone know what I need to do to ship with either UPS or with FedEx?? Steps would be appreciated, not just yes you can, and how I need to ship it would be even better! I have to ship these out on Monday morning! Thanks guys!! |
