Anybody know anything about this? I have a short machete type knife that has USMC stamped on the blade. The blade is one quarter inch thick and 11 and one half long, plus a 5 and one half inch handle. Also stamped on the blade below the USMC is Chatillon, N.Y. Any information or history or value would be appreciated.

You have what is commonly called a WWII USMC Corpmans Knife. The original desgin was for it to be used to amputate badly danaged limbs on the battlefield, but in general use 99% of them were used for general hacking in the jungles. In good shape with the sheath they go for $120-175.
