3 words DOWNLOAD THIS MODGreat maps, great vehicles, pure fun. You can kinda tell they "borrowed" some ideas from the old DC mod back in BF1942. Which, if you loved that mod this one will make you drool. They recreated Battle of 73 Easting, a similar map to Basrah's Edge, and Al (cant remember the name) docks! /bump I highly recommend this mod. It's all I play now. Battle of 73 Easting turns into a GREAT tank battle ...no arty ..no jets. Basrah Streets is a great ground battle... There is a no UAV either....another plus. The A-10 and the Frogfoot are a blast to fly... There are about 20-30 servers running this mod now. Dooo eeet now !  P.S. PHUCK EA |

WOW!!! This Mod Rocks! The A-10 and Frogfoot Tear Assholes New Assholes. I like how they Remade the tanks and the Apache. The Abrams now carries 3 people instead of two (Driver, .50 Cal gunner & 30 Cal. Gunner). there is alot of great things that they did for BF2... First time I have played BF2 Since. Nathan |

Yep, there are still some kinks to work out and the devs are well aware of most of them. Overall, its a good first release. Hell, I remember the first release of DC..that was slightly buggy too. The only major problem I see is the inaccuracy of the sniper rifle....which they claim will be fixed soon. You can't hit the broad side of a barn with that thing.  Either way, I refuse to play BF2 ranked, yet I find myself logging in and playing this mod every night for a few hours. This mod made me want to play again. I cant wait to see what the PoE, FH and DCon boys are gonna put out.  |

Geez, I don't even have BF2 yet and I already have a list off add ons, upgrades, and mods to download. ETA- the first dunderhead who calls "friendly" artillery in on me is going to be in big trouble. I'm having a real problem with that in the demo. I know it's not the bad guys arty because I've gotten very proficient at taking it out early. |

Well, the only major mods out that I know of are Operation Peace Keeper and the USI one. The "Big Three" back in BF1942 were Point of Existence (PoE), Forgotten Hope (FH) and Desert Combat (DC), now DCon. All three have mods currently in the works. My guess is a few will be released this summer. I'm betting the farm PoE is gonna KICK ASS.

+1 I haven't played vanilla BF2 for awhile, yet when I play I only play this mod. There is a balance to the game which i really like. If you press X while in the Abrams tank, you can zoom. Also the Pilot of the Apache has control of a laser Guided missle. Simply change weapons, aim at the tank and wait for tone and then fire. My Favorite is the A-10... I usually get first place in a server when I fly with it. I Laughed my ass off when I held down the button for the Horn on the Iraqi team's truck. It plays some Dirka Dirka Jihad music of some sort. I especially like the radio transmissions that you hear when driving the Humvee. Not being in the military myself, but it gave a small sense of what it might be like ....totally realistic. It's it little odds and ends they added that make this mod worth checking out. Like that picture of Richard Simmons in a thong on the ........oh wait that's another game

That's odd. Did you start up the game using the USI icon? When I get home around 430 EST there are about 30 servers running. By the time 9 rolls around it drops to around 15-20. Again, make sure you are starting up BF2 using the USI icon NOT the BF2 one. And the ranked box is unchecked in the filter menu. Hope that helps. |
I don't have one of those icons? it just starts with the BF2 startup. It's all intertwined with BF2? |

Hmmm. Well for 3 days in a row now there were 25-30 servers active when I got home around 430 EST. They tend to decrease further into the evening. Usually there are only a dozen running by about 9 or 10. I guess more of the EU people are playing than us. Sorry you are having trouble. |

I dont like it. The movie was good but the game kind of sucked or at least didnt impress me much. It kind of reminded me of Nova Logic Delta Force, actually I think they stole the weapon sounds from it. I give it a thumbs down. I would love to see Point of Existance and Eve of DEstruction made for BF 2. Charlie dont surf map would rock. |

I was playing on one of the oilfield maps last night, with 3 other players. One guy from my team and one from the other team were fighting over a capture point on the ground while another guy and I had jet battles while trying to do close air support on the flag. The ground-attack planes do not have any air to air weapons (beyond the gun, but they cant track air targets) and the fighters only have the gun and air-to-air missiles. Kharn |

ok. i tried getting on a server 4 or 5 times last night and today. i kept getting connection problems left and right. alot with crashes to desktop. I AM having dsl issues. but right after i got CTD i opened up regular bf2 and it runs fine  i don't see me playing this much more in the future. when i connect to a server I am loggin into bf2 as i always do. type the ip address that someone is on. then the bf2 window closes and it starts to reload the mod. half the time IT DOESN"T LOAD IT. i have to ctl alt delete close the bf2 program thats running, reload bf2 and try again. Am i the ONLY ONE having this problem, am i doing something wrong? i have uninstalled and reinstalled this mod. and i still have the same problem. can someone help a brother out?

Once you open the file with rar you should see an .exe file that will start the self-installing program. It does the job for you. |
