How expensive is a good set of Googles and Glasses?

I don't want to bother scanning or faxing my military ID if they are cost prohibitive.

Glasses $35-80 depending on type and lenses...  Can't say for sure on the goggles since I didn't really look at them...

Spooky

Dood...Oakley hooks it up for us on there.

I bought the same pair of glasses my girl bought me for $140 for ~$70.

If you're using US standard issue, all you'll get is Oakley shit.

There is better eye pro out there.

Look for Revision Sawflys or ESS Ice.

I respectfully disagree. Oakleys FTW

To the OP...Oakley standard issue line stuff has recently started appearing in the PXs over here. used to be the only 2 ways to get the APEL versions of the oakleys was through your unit or from the website. I just recently purchased the M Frame 2.0 with grey and clear lenses, soft bag, hard case and I think an extra nose piece for $89.

The army issued us oakleys, which promptly broke even before leaving the mob station.  I tried wileys, ESS ect, until they issued sawfly revision, one pair lasted 8 months, in fact they are still my shooting glasses, with replacement lenses, which are pretty cheap.

I tried wearing googles with Rx lenses during my iraq tour, but ended up wearing my contacts anyway, although it was forbidden.

The Desert Gascans are great glasses. I really like mine. Can't comment on the goggles, I got a pair of ESS and they work good.

Hmm, I have some Wiley SG-1s that fog up at the slightest bit of humidity. Wasn't impressed with them. What ones are you guys using?

Contact oakley and ask about what they do for active duty mil. They have a  list of what is in the program (almost everything). I wanna say when I bought my own the m-frame aray case(frames, x-tra nose piece, clear, black polarized, yellow and red lenses) was around $80, and my half jacket xjs array case was $129.
This was about 3 years ago, so it might have changed.

In the test I've seen, oakley has the edge for ballistic protection. I personally know guys whose oakleys saved their sight.

I have a pair of Romer IIs, that came with yellow, clear, and tinted sunglass lenses.  I use them as my shooting glasses.  I also have a pair of Slydes I keep in the truck as sunglasses.  I've never had a fogging problem with either pair.

Not a fan of those.  They instantly fog with the slightest hint of any physical exertion.

I've been issued Wiley-X SG1, Wiley-X PT1, Oakley M-Frame, ESS Ice 2X, Revision Sawfly, and various goggles usually made by ESS.  Hands down, my favorites are the Revision Sawfly.  I am currently using the ESS Ice 2X which aren't bad.

+1 on the fogging issue.  Never had a problem with any ESS gear.  I'm still trying to find tricks or tips on how to stop fogging on those damn SG-1's though.  Seems like a waste.

Ditch the sg1's they are shit,
the new generation xl1's are the way to go, they have a removable foam piece, so you can remove that "gasket" when you are not using the as motorcycle or free fall goggles,

with the foam gone the fog problem is no longer an issue.

I love the new xl1's they fix all the problems that the first gen had, like the foam, and the fact the ear pieces scratched the lenses, not anymore.

Numa is worth checking out.
Edge eyewear makes a model called the Badger, love them, and they're cheap.

Remember they must be Z87 rated whatever your choice.
