I am using an Ubuntu boot disk and need help getting my Linksys Wireless(Connected Via USB). Anyone have any suggestions? Also what is a good place to find software for Ubuntu? |
|
Also If I am installing Ubuntu and never want to use Windows on this computer again, and don't need the other files on the disk how should I prepare the disk space. Update: I figured everything out except the usb detection. Update 2: My usb mouse works but not my cheapo usb keyboard, go figure |
Never wanna use Windows again? Just run the LiveCD installer and click through the defaults. |
Everything should work when installed. Actually, everything should work from the live CD. Did you disconnect and then reconnect keyboard? |

I installed it, but I have a few problems left, and the keyboard and mouse were eventually recognized. Problem 1. I cannot get my usb Linksys Wireless to work. I don't know if I can install a windows based driver on Ubuntu or how that would even work as I am a complete noob with this OS. Problem 2. Ubuntu hates ATI. It refuses to let the standard driver run the card. Then it gets mad and tells me I have to run everything in crappy looking mode. Does anyone know where I can find drivers for these things so I can get them to work with Ubuntu? Thanks Ahead of Time. |
