My Uncle has cirrhosis or the liver and is in critical condition. He has never drank in his life either. He was on the top of the transplant list as of a couple days ago which was good news in itself. Yesterday evening he got a call from the transplant team saying that a 39 year old female was mortally wounded in a golf cart accident in Indiana, and was being kept alive on life support until the transplant teams could arrive. Early this morning this brave individual gave her life to save my Uncles, and I can never thank her and her family enough. My uncle began surgery at 5am this morning, and it will last 6-8 hours. Our whole family is waiting tooth and nail for any updates....

I really wish I could thank that 39 year old woman...what she has done means so much to me and my family. Godspeed.

I feel your pain. My Mom just got one over Memorial Day weekend. She is doing really well now. At first she had her ups and doesn, but things have stabilized. Family support (and great Doctors!) is what kept her alive. She had PBC since childhood and it was a matter of time. The team called and she went.

Her Bilirubin is now 0.3!!! It was as high as 16 a few days after the surgery.

Hang tough!
