So I bought this http://www.rainierarms.com/v7-titanium-combo and wanted to see what most of you think about these boutique AR accessories. I fully understand you can get a milspec endplate and castenut for well under 10 bucks but this is Titanium!!!

Any feedback would be appreciated even if its semi hostile due to the nature of this product.

Meh...

If you are going for an ultra-lightweight build where every ounce/gram counts, go for it.

I don't think titanium vs. steel in those particular parts will ever matter one whit when it comes to performance but the weight reduction is definitely there.

Bottom line is: your money, your build, have fun.

I put together an AR that weighs less than 5 pounds including an Aimpoint Micro/mount using a bunch of their stuff.

It ain't cheap, and I fully admit, it really ain't necessary, but they do make some nice stuff.

It really makes a standard weight AR feel like a dog.  It makes my Tavor and Steyr AUG feel like absolute pigs.

If you can spare the cash versus the standard parts, try them out.  I think you will be very satisfied.

I mainly went with that for the Titanium look since I have several other titanium related parts to include a suppressor.

Wouldn't the titanium be harder to deform into place to lock the castle nut?

I do not plan on staking the castle nut. Gonna just use some teflon tape on the buffer tube.
