So I decided to risk $24.95 on an eBay auction for a license key. I got the key for the latest edition 6.5.3 and it installed and worked on Windows 7.
I have already installed Ubuntu and it looks like server 2008 just finished. Anyway, I am still a big fan of Sun VirtualBox, but we run VMware ESX boxes at work and VM Workstation is a better fit. I just couldn't see spending $189 for it from VMware. Just thought I would share.
