Couldnt find a thread, so I thought I'd start one...

I picked up the DVD today. The base DVD set you can get at Circuit City for like $13 until Saturday 07/05. I picked up the dual disc collection for $23, as it comes with extras and a digital copy (which Im gonna give to my buddy to put on his laptop while deployed this year).

So, lets hear what people thought about the movie!!

Had to watch it twice as I didn't pay too much attention first time around....

Second time round I enjoyed it a lot more...

My parents gave it terrible reviews but my wife and I were still interested in seeing it.  We both loved it and the multiple perspective story telling was very well done.  That kind of thing has been done before but it was still very original.

Worth a watch IMO.

So I watched the special features....very MEH...just a few behind the scenes video that uses very annoying camera work during the interviews (8 bit color and lots of pointless zoom and pan).

Well, dang... I almost rented it last night, but the geek at the rental store said it sucked...

I'll check it out for sure.

saw it at the $.75 movie theater and still thought i paid too much.....so what does the dual disc special ed dvd hold? more vantage points so you can continue to watch the same 20 minutes? including those from the povs of mouse in the square and the ice cream cone? i'm sorry, i thought this movie was a horrible waste of time.

A couple of poeple I know have seen it.  I've seen it also.  Out of the people I know personally that have seen it, the ones that tend to have a little more smarts about them really liked it.  The others..not so much.

please enlighten me on what was so "smart" about the movie? the plot of assassinating a president is far from original, anyone who can count to 10 could tell you about 10 min who was going to be a traitor, and the way the ending scenario unfolded is about as likely as forest whitaker paying his taxes.

It is was fairly entertaining, but I couldn't quite put my finger on why it bothered me to a degree.

Maybe it was Forest Whitaker's really annoying facial expressions when talking.

He dropped a bunch of weight, he looked sickly. I thought he had a stroke or something.

watching it now, will comment later

ok, I liked it, but the convenience of the ending was a bit much
and SS don't wear any kind of body armor?

also, do you really think that terrorist guy would have cared about running someone, even a kid, over?

watched it yesterday
how ironic, the anti-terrorist meetings held in Spain (who voted out their gov       leaders, that supported the US, after their train bombing)
thought the Forest Whiticker/ tourist part was not really needed, mostly filler
William Hurt's POTUS was a real wuss . . . "now we have the sympathy of the world . . ."
like was said earlier . . . terrorist w/ captured POTUS swerved to avoid clipping the little girl in the street . . WTF
some good twists and turns, I enjoyed it

Why were the terrorists so intent on picking up their cohort, the one that only cooperated because the kidnapped his brother, so they could kill him instead of just abandoning him?

Then why not kill him, instead of pick him up?

He goes to the pick up point, blam.....................

Instead of all the sillyness of trying to get him to a meeting point.

Or just leave him............... "I was forced to kill multiple people, and kidnap the POTUS"............................ would go over really well, and probably cause more confusion.

I didn't like it.  It started out well, and generated some good tension... but stopping everything to go back to a new perspective got old and overplayed.  Plus the plot was just grossly absurd.
