How do you carry your rifles and shotguns in your car or truck? (Not whether it's legal or not.) But, how?

Do you just lay it on the backseat? In the trunk? Under the seat? In a case or zip up bag? Do you have a rifle rack? A back-of-seat holster deal? In a pickup toolbox? Overheard? Wedged between seat and armrest?

How do you carry your long gun in your pickup? What works for you?

I've got a 2007 Dodge Quad Cab that has a flip up back seat.  I keep my AR under there in a soft case with 7 mags.

long guns in a padded case in the cab of my truck with loaded mags in a range bag. CCW on my person.

I still haven't figured out if having a rifle in the black glass is kosher or not in NYS. I'm happy enough as it is, but I'd rather have it loaded on the roof.

I have a DUHA under the back seat of my Chevy Crew Cab.  It used to carry my 870 but with three car seats installed above it opening the seat is a chore.

When I lived in Texas, I had a mossey 590 “holster” sewn into the back seat of my Blazer.  The holster was 2 nylon straps.  One was sewn into a loop and sewn onto the seat about the bend in an adult’s knees.  The other was sewn to the seat on one end and had an industrial strength Velcro pad on the other end.  Then a canvas cover was sewn on the bottom of the front of the seat with Velcro covering the shotgun.  I don’t remember then name of the place that did it for me, but it was a vehicle upholstery shop in the I-35 and Louis Henna area of Round Rock.  Cost about $150 to have it done back in 99
